Our primary goal is to work safely towards the reduction of downtime and improving our efficiency and quality.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The position reports to the Production Manager and is primarily accountable for:â ¢ Ownership for self and team safetyâ ¢ High involvement in Employee Driven Safety practices and teamsâ ¢ Monitor process and product qualityâ ¢ Maintain and improve qualityâ ¢ Work to maximize uptime and reduce scrapâ ¢ Identification of wastes and elimination of lossesâ ¢ Active participation in employee led Autonomous Production Teams focused on the elimination of lossesâ ¢ Troubleshooting and resolution of process/equipment/component issuesâ ¢ Analyzing information from data collection systems to determine appropriate next stepsâ ¢ Application of root cause problem solving methods and practicesâ ¢ Proper utilization of plant data collection systemsâ ¢ Successful operation of technology across multiple lines or execution of multiple technologies within a single lineâ ¢ Development of and Compliance to Standard Work and Standard Operating Proceduresâ ¢ SMED, Quick Changeoversâ ¢ Support Plant audits: GMP, SQA, ISO, SEA, Housekeeping, Centerlining, etc.â ¢ Understanding and consistent application of Lean Principles, ie: Performance Management, Centerlining, CIL, QCO, 5S, Loss Teams, Kaizens, etc.â ¢ Commitment to completion of technical training grid requirements within the allotted timeframeRequired Skills / Experience / Competencies:The individual must demonstrate the following competencies:â ¢ Demonstrated Math and Measurement skills- utilization of measurement tools (ruler, hand gauges, etc.) to measure to the 1/16 Â for quality inspection and detection and determine appropriate corrective actions requiredâ ¢ Working knowledge of Safety, and Health and Environment principles and practicesâ ¢ Proven ability to undertake tasks of substantial variety or complexityâ ¢ Demonstrated strength in problem solving and troubleshootingâ ¢ SMED (Quick Changeover) experienceâ ¢ Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a team environmentâ ¢ Flexibility to work within teams and independently with minimal supervision to meet operational goalsâ ¢ Proficient in the use and application of MS Office Suite Products (Outlook - Calendar and Email; Word, Excel)â ¢ Good communication skills, both verbal, and writtenPreferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:Manufacturing technical degree or two (2) years of experience in a fast paced, highly automated integrated continuous process flow manufacturing environment utilizing multiple technologies preferredExperience within a Lean Manufacturing Environment preferredJob Requirements:Ability to climb up and down steps and laddersCapable of lifting, pushing, and pulling a maximum of fifty (50) poundsAbility to work twelve (12) hour shifts standing and including a significant amount of walking, bending, twistingAvailable to work nights and weekends on a rotating shift scheduleMust be available to work overtimeOverhead work may be requiredAppropriate use and compliance to required PPE (steel toe safety shoes, hearing protection, eye protection)This role is not eligible for relocationOther duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any timewith or without notice as assigned by the Manager.
