UAS Dining ServicesWork Schedule: This is an on-call position. This position will work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, and/or evenings: no more than 29 hours/week; non-exempt position. This position is not eligible for benefits. Summary: Golden Eagle Dining Services provides hospitality service options for the California State University Los Angeles campus. The candidate for this position must be able to adhere to an extremely high set of customer service standards and be proficient in basic customer service functions. The On-Call Banquet Server will report to the Catering and Events Manager.Duties: Under the general supervision of the Catering and Events Manager, the On-Call Banquet Server will be responsible for the early morning set-ups of multiple beverage and food stations located on the campus of the California State University of Los Angeles, stocks condiments and paper goods at the determined service stations; keeps the area clean and organized; and maintains coffee station as necessary. The On-Call Banquet Server must be able to brew coffee, set up presentable service tables, and maintain them throughout the day. In addition, the On-Call Banquet Server will help with other aspects of the catering production. Above all, the On-Call Banquet Server must be dependable to show up, be ready to work, and be on time for their shifts. Note: Missing several shifts and/or tardiness will result in employee separation.Requirements:
- Must have at least a minimum High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- Able to maintain a positive and cooperative attitude in dealing with staff, co-workers, customers, and the campus community;
- Must possess strong customer service skills; have flexibility to a changing schedule dictated by client needs.
- Walking, talking, hearing, pulling, bending, may carry 20 pounds of objects/material, might be exposed to extreme noise levels, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands or arms, stooping, kneeling, tasting, or smelling.
The incumbent must also demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the UAS. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or the continued employment of current UAS employees who apply for the position.
