JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the COO/Safety & Security Manager, the Safety and Security Support Clerk performs a variety of routine Safety and Security Support Clerk related duties for New Horizon Family Health Services, Inc. The Safety and Security Support Clerk is responsible for maintaining the secure handling of New Horizon Family Health Services interdepartmental and postal mail. Additionally, the Safety and Security Support Clerk will perform daily trips to multiple banks securing deposits and receipts from New Horizon Family Health Services, Inc. offices, and assists with deposit computer logs and other financial operational duties as directed by the COO.
DUTIES PERFORMED:
* Responsible for distributing packages and documents for NHFHS. The Safety and Security Support Clerk will pick up documents and packages from our offices or U.S. post office and then deliver them to final destinations within our corporate system.
* Respond to requests for time sensitive package delivery.
* Assists with the shredding and document storage process to include tracking transmittal sheets, assigning bar codes and requesting sequence numbers for different departments.
* Acts as primary for Finance procedures, i.e. preparing spreadsheet for dental and medical bank deposits
* Acts as primary for processing both incoming and outgoing mail, as well as certified, registered and FedEx.
* Maintains spreadsheet to track/issue NH hang tags for vehicles for all sites.
* Maintains spreadsheet for credit card activity for COO, CFO and Facilities.
* Assists with company vehicle claims with the insurance carrier.
* Operates office equipment including copier, fax machine and computer terminal.
* Attends staff meetings and any pertinent training or workshops as required.
* Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities with mail or bank deposits.
* Responsible for the secure handling of organizational bank deposits and receipts in accordance with official Finance Department Policies and Procedures
* Complies with NHFHS employee Personnel Policies and Procedures.
* Performs routine vehicle maintenance, adheres to safe driving and obeys all traffic laws.
* Provides good customer service.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
* Observes company dress code.
* Observes schedule for work, breaks, and lunch.
* Must hold all patient Protected Health Information (PHI) other patient personal information and agency information in confidence, in accordance with the attached Employee Confidentiality Statement, which I have read, understand and signed.
* Actively participates in and complies with all aspects of NHFHS' Corporate Compliance Program, follows the Program Code of Conduct and obey all relevant laws, statutes, regulations and requirements applicable to Medicaid, Medicare and other State and Federal health care program.
* Participates in CQI, other internal committees, special projects/observances or activities that promote improvements in organizational performance and/or advance the mission, goals and objectives of New Horizon Family Health Services.
* Performs other duties which may be assigned by the supervisor, CEO, COO, the Safety and Security Manager, or their designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
* Minimum High School graduate or GED equivalent.
Experience
* Must be capable of understanding and carrying out routine instructions.
* Must be able to work a flexible schedule as work hours may not always be uniform or prescribed.
* Must be able to properly and safely operate all work related equipment, including but not limited to vehicles, computers and other electronic devices.
* Must be able to complete assigned duties in a timely fashion.
* Must have the physical capacity to perform required task in accordance with the physical requirements for the job.
* Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the community.
* Must possess acceptable verbal and written communication skills.
* Must have pleasant personality; must be dependable.
* Works under general supervision of the COO and Safety and Security Manager.
* Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions and provide information.
* Must have and maintain a valid SC driver's license.
