Tolman - Keller, WA Position Type Full Time Salary Range $20.00 Hourly DescriptionCLOSING DATE: December 27, 2024 POSITION: Custodian and Yard Maintenance SALARY: $20.00, per hour REPORTS TO: Program Manager LOCATION: Parks and Recreation, Nespelem, WA Basic Functions: Provide for all cleaning in the Parks and Recreation Building, Parks and Recreation Shop and Fire Management/Forestry Building. Provide grounds maintenance on the entire Mt. Tolman Complex which includes but not limited to lawn care, flower beds, parking lots, trash removal, snow removal, painting, and minor plumbing. QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Training:
- Requires a High school diploma or GED.
- Requires (6) months experience in the use of material and equipment associated with cleaning buildings, preferred.
- Requires (6) months of related work performance in the various janitor/custodial, grounds maintenance tasks associated with the care and cleaning of buildings and yard work.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of Material Safety Data System, preferred.
- Must have WDL, BIA license and be eligible for tribal insurance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires to be able to organize work schedule to get all the required work completed in a timely manner.
- Requires basic cleaning skills.
- Requires experience in using cleaning solutions and their dangers.
- Requires willing to work under adverse weather conditions.
- Requires to able to reorganize work load at any given notice to accommodate the needs of the Complex.
- Requires skill to operate a riding lawn mower, push mower, weed eater, vacuum cleaner and other small equipment as needed.
- Requires good social skills and have ability to get along with public and employees.
- Requires ability to handle adverse situations in a professional manner so as not to put self in danger.
- Required to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Must possess and maintain WSDL license and be eligible for the Tribes insurance.
- Requires to be physically able to lift 50 pounds.
- Requires to be dependable and prompt.
- Requires working knowledge of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets)
- Requires the willing to work long hours during fire season.
- Requires to be able to work under adverse weather conditions
- Requires good working and communication skills
- Requires to be willing to attend training provided by the Colville Tribes if needed.
- Requires a maintained healthy life style.
- Must have reliable transportation.
