About the Role & TeamAre you a commercial diver interested in helping to maintain animal habitats while working for the Walt Disney Company? As a Water Sciences Dive Technician, you will take part in the nightly commercial diving operation of Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park's animal pools. You will ensure adherence to strict water quality guidelines which is the basis of our Aquatic Animal Health Program. In this role, you will be working overnight hours.In this Full-Time, hourly role, you will report to the Dive Manager.What You Will DoProvide topside support for all dive teams by setting up dive stationsPerform dive equipment testing of Dive Rigs, Deck whips, and other equipmentMaintain equipment inventory and the Log Book on dive equipment and non-diving equipmentSet up dive stations, desludging pumps, and hosesDive, perform tending, and act as the Dive Station Operator, Standby Diver and DPICNightly diving and pool cleaningWork 3rd shift, overnight hoursRequired Qualifications & SkillsCommercial Diving CertificationA valid U.S. Driver's LicensePrevious facilitation and presentation experienceComfort working underwater for long periods of timeDesire to implement best practices, with focus on streamlined procedures and standardization where applicableTalent for developing partnerships and work with all team members in the organizationPass Disney's annual dive physicalComfort with heavy lifting up to 50lbsPreviously performed at least 30 working dives on surface supplied airProficiency in basic computer functions to operate in a Windows environment and other technologiesAvailability to include weekends, variable shifts, and holidaysPreferred QualificationsADCI Surface Supplied Diver CertificationEducationHigh school diploma, or equivalent 3 years of directly related experienceCompleted a formal course of instruction at a recognized commercial diving school, military training, or equivalent consisting of at least 625 hours of instruction in surface supply divingMust have a documented Log Book or equivalentBenefits and PerksDisney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
