Summer Campus Ambassador, UWM Office of Undergraduate Admissions Job Location: UWM Lubar Entrepreneurship Center and Welcome Center, 2100 E Kenwood Blvd., Milwaukee WI 53211 Must be available to work this Summer. Opportunity to continue into Fall 2024. Position Summary: UWM Campus Ambassadors (CA) are an integral part of the UWM Recruitment Team and are recognized as leaders on campus. As a CA, you will give tours, greet guests at the Welcome Center's front desk, answer general advising questions, make outreach calls, and work during the visit events hosted throughout the year. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is seeking self-motivated, organized, and energetic individuals with superior customer service skills. We desire to employ individuals who are eager to learn and engage with the larger campus community, who take ownership of problem-solving on behalf of students and families, and who are adaptable and flexible to new directives, procedures, and policies. As a CA, you will support prospective students and families through the following: Host group tours that will include, but are not limited to, prospective students and their parents, visiting dignitaries, alumni, community organizations, and middle and high school students. Manage front desk, answer phone calls to the Welcome Center and Call Center, and make outreach calls. Assist with organizing and facilitating OUA-sponsored events and various projects as needed. Collaborate with staff to produce social media content that expands awareness of the university. Essential Qualifications: Must be a current undergraduate UWM student. Must attend all mandatory training dates - Employment is contingent upon successful completion of onboarding training. Be able to commit AT LEAST 10 hours per week and be flexible with scheduling week to week. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills. Possess strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively on a team. Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of exemplary customer service skills in person, over the phone, and through email correspondence. Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), Google Docs, and social media platforms; experience with campus database software is a plus (Teams and Slate). Knowledge of university resources and facilities. Demonstrated knowledge of an office setting. Enthusiasm for delivering high-quality service and willingness to take initiative.
