This includes substituting as a paraeducator, library media assistant, and administrative assistant.
Position Summary:
The Classified Substitute performs under the supervision of the principal, classroom teacher, or other designated supervisor, and has the responsibility to assist with the instructional program according to the directions left by the absent employee or supervisor. The Classified Substitute functions in accordance with established policies, rules and regulations and the performance standards of the district.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Makes every effort to follow the instructions left by the absent employee
Assists students in the classroom as directed by the teacher or supervisor
Displays judgment that supports professional standards of conduct
Maintains standards of professional ethics in all relationships with students, parents, teachers and other community members
Complies with all school rules, regulations and policies
Demonstrates punctuality and good attendance
Demonstrates aptitude and interest for the work to be performed
Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability
Maintains school property
Maintains confidentiality - sharing of student information or sensitive school staff information of any sort with anyone outside the school system is a violation of professional ethics rules
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned
Expectations of Substitutes:
It is the expectation that when signing up to substitute, the substitute agrees to accept offered assignments. Being selective in the accepting of assignments may result in fewer job offers and/or removal from the substitute list.
Minimum Qualifications:
All positions: High School Diploma or GED
Para Educator: 72 Quarter Credits, AA Degree,or passing score on Para Educator Test (visit for more information)
General Information:
Check with the building secretary the day before to verify check-in time.
Always check in at the building's main office to sign in on your day of assignment
Pay Period: As a substitute, you will be paid one month after you have worked. (i.e. work completed in September will be paid via direct deposit to your account on the last working day of October) Time sheets due in the office by the 5th of each month
We use a system for substitutes called AESOP. If you need assistance with the AESOP system once you have been added to our district as a substitute, please contact the building secretary or payroll office.

Pay Rates:
Administrative Assistant - $25.88 per hour
Paraeducator - $20.46 per hour
Library Media Assistant - $22.66 per hour
Benefits:
One hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked.
