- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Hospital unit: Women's and Children's Unit description: LDRP
- Nurse to patient ratio: utilize AWHONN guidelines
- Patient population: 35 weeks and above, post partum moms, newborns
- # beds per unit: 16 + 2 bed OBED
- Other staff/resources on the unit: Surgical Tech
- Certifications required per unit: BLS/NRP
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- Requires a minimum of two years of RN Labor & Delivery experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
- Active unencumbered RN New York state license
