Quality Supervisor

Quality Supervisor Responsibilities:
+ Reports to Quality Control Director
+ Oversees all aspects of quality assurance and food safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and product quality standards are met.
+ Ensure food safety and quality standards are met and maintained
+ Supports a positive quality culture, implements, and enforces customer, regulatory, and the company processes, policies, and procedures.
+ Is accountable for internal and external quality complaint resolution, execution of audits, and ensuring efficient and smooth operations within the production facility.
+ Trains new hires (GMP / SOP's, USDA, FDA facility): QC Technicians, Packaging Line Operators, Blenders/Mixers, and other production staff as needed and during new hire orientation (meet & greet).
+ Resolves problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, making recommendations, and taking corrective and preventive action.
+ Analyzes process and quality data to measure, assess, and improve product quality and performance.
+ Takes the time to educate production teams on standards and processes, instilling a quality approach in all employees.
+ Leads root cause investigations of detected risks or failures, complaints, and monitor CAPA implementation.
+ Work closely with production managers to maximize product quality and reliability and minimize cost.
+ Provides direction to the operations team on management of non-compliant products. Places product on hold where necessary.
+ Track, analyze, and lead initiatives for all internal quality and customer complaint issues.
+ Determine, document, and approve site-specific or one-time occurrences such as protocols (reworks, validations, etc.), deviations (planned or unplanned), waivers, or releases for materials and products as required.
+ Manages change control of Standard Operating Procedures.
+ Oversees implementation of new and revised labels.
Quality Control Supervisor Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, major in a Science field (i.e. Food, Chemistry, Biology)
+ At least three (3) years' experience in Quality Control from another food processing/manufacturing facility; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two (2) of which should be in a leadership capacity.
+ Able to solve problems independently.
+ Excellent time management, attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills, listening, decision-making, and organization skills is required.
+ Excellent computer skills required, including Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Note:
This position requires the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with hazardous chemicals and materials, etc. While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over slippery surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as samples and record boxes. This position requires frequent pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50lbs.
