Job Location : Williston,VT, USA
The ideal candidate is independent and a natural leader, that can problem solve and works with others well. This position is responsible for running the jobsite, which includes understanding the schedule, manpower needs, mastery of the prints, as well as understanding phases of the job, tools, equipment, and material needed for them.
Requirements+
* Read blueprints and drawings to determine exact specifications and how plumbing system will be installed. Make redlines and coordinate with other trades so systems work together.
* Delegate job responsibilities to those working on site. Understand schedule, budget, and man hours of the job at all times. Set an example for all others on site of how our company looks to present itself in all manners of the job. Trains others.
* Understanding of all job site requirements and remind others of expectations daily. Communicate within and between job sites and with other companies to coordinate when needed.
* Make take-offs/material lists for what is needed and coordinate orders with vendors for delivery or pickup. Receive and help direct equipment that arrives onsite to be installed.
* Determine size and pathways for water supply networks and waste drainage systems.
* Install systems used to transport water, waste, gases, or liquids.
* Ensure that systems are up to code and meet all building and safety standards.
* Prepare for installing pipe and mechanical systems by selecting materials, including type and size of pipe, cutting holes through existing structures, installing hangers, and preassembling valves and fittings.
* Assemble pipe and tubing sections, which may include soldering, threading, pro-press, or brazing tasks.
* Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle as needed.
* Install other plumbing equipment, such as sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, air conditioners, appliances, and trim.
* Test pipe systems through observation of pressure gauges and fixes leaks that exist. Ensure all installations are properly sized, aligned, supported, and match final system drawings.
* Set up inspections and walk throughs with inspectors. Follows safety policies and immediately reports safety incidents. Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
* Ensures assigned tools and equipment are properly maintained following preventive maintenance guidelines.
* Performs other duties as assigned. These duties may include backing up other departments and/or operating forklifts or construction lifts following the appropriate training.
Qualifications:
* Holds or pursuing a Master NH or VT plumbing license, responsible to stay certified and perform standards of the trade. Other certifications that are often obtained include: VT Natural Gas or Propane, NH Gas Fitters and/or Medical Gas.
* High school diploma or GED diploma required and/or equivalent education and experience.
* High school diploma or GED diploma required and/or equivalent education and experience.
* Valid driver's license required and able to travel to NY, NH, and VT.
* OSHA 10 certification is a plus or the ability to complete the certification within 14 days from the hire date.
* Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders, ability to prioritize work other others, work independently, learn technical tasks, be part of a team, solve problems, safely operate hand tools, and complete assigned tasks with quality.
* Provide end of job briefing to management.
* Must be familiar with jobsite safety policies and restrictions.
* Has in-depth knowledge of troubleshooting issues with assembling and installing pipe systems, pipe supports, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
* Works quickly and accurately under pressure and can handle considerable stress.
* Reliable, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
* Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required (typically this position works Monday to Friday 8 hours a day).
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
* Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout shift.
* Frequently lifting or moving items up to 75 pounds.
* Occasionally required to lift, carry, or hold up to 100 pounds.
* Exposed to extreme temperatures when working outside.
* Ability to frequently climb up and down and work at height. This includes climbing multiple flights of stairs, ladders (6ft to 14ft), and working from extension ladders.
* Some repetitive motion required.
* The typical work environment is a construction site setting.
