Job Location : Tyler,TX, USA
Performs manual labor and support of water treatment plant operations, assists maintenance staff with projects, and performs janitorial duties. This position reports to the Plant Operator III and Chief Operator
1. Assists with both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance projects.
2. Assists with the loading /unloading of materials, supplies, etc.
3. Sweeps, mops, and removes trash from offices, rooms, etc.
4. Mows, rakes, trims brush using power tools.
5. Drive a truck to run errands.
6. Must be able to use a computer for basic functions.
7. Must have good vision, hearing, and communication skills.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists in the removal of limbs, brush, and debris for disposal.
2. Paints equipment and structures.
3. Repairs various equipment, structures, etc.
4. Must have a working knowledge of power tools, mowers, weed trimmers, etc.
5. Maintenance and safe use of all hand and power tools.
6. Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
1. Utilities experience helpful but, not required. Must have a working knowledge and previous use of
hand tools, power tools, tractors, cranes, winches, pumps, mowers, weed trimmers, chainsaws,
welding machines.
2. Ability to work indoors /outdoors, in various temperature extremes.
3. Must be able to carry and pull up to 25 pounds. Occasionally stand, walk for 1-8 hours per day.
Climb, balance, stoop, crouch, and crawl occasionally.
4. Must be able to read/ speak English; understand and carry out oral instructions.
5. Must be able to work independently and effectively with other employees.
High school diploma or GED required. Must possess a valid Class C Texas Driver's license with a clear driving record.
