From adding ministries to staffing, from building facilities to adding programs, from stewardship to membership, it has all been for the purpose of being obedient to the commission of Christ.YOUR ROLE IN OUR MISSIONThe Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk serves as the lead accountant that ensures the accurate and proper recording of all accounting activity with timely reporting. This position is a part of the finance team that helps to ensure good stewardship of financial resources. Under the direction of the Controller, the Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk assists in collecting and recording receipts and paying invoices. They also work with the Controller to ensure proper internal controls are in place to protect church funds. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
- Assist with the proper collection and recording of church donations.
- Process and record weekly cash deposits and ensure member records are accurate. Provide members with information regarding their annual contributions for tax purposes.
- Receive, review, enter, and code invoices received during the Accounts Payable process.
- Ensure that all payables are processed timely and accurately and that all related accounts are balanced each month.
- Ensure approval is received by the appropriate staff before invoices are paid.
- Print checks and route for signatures on a weekly basis, ensuring checks are mailed and invoices paid in a timely manner.
- Properly set up vendors in accounting system, including collection of their W9s.
- Work with vendors to ensure 1099 eligibility by securing W-9s and coordinating related IRS notices.
- Complete annual 1099 reporting.
- Provide support to the Controller and auditors to help ensure the timely completion of the annual audit review.
- Backup to bi-weekly payroll processing.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or other business-related degree; plus two years of experience OR five years or experience.
- Experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll.
- Non-Profit experience preferred.
