Overview:

Please note this position will be based out of our Orlando, FL Distribution Center. The Inventory Control Supervisor works to control the inventory flow through the building. This position must follow the plans set by the System Support Manager/Distribution Center Director. Inventory Control Supervisor will direct staff where to move product once it has passed quality control. This position will ensure the product is stored correctly. Working with the WMS system the Inventory Control Supervisor will make sure that the product is assigned to the correct slots and makes sure that proper product rotation is followed. This position will work closely with the Quality Control and the Buying Department.

Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Essential Job Functions

  • Supervise, train, coach and develop line staff to ensure they are following company policies, procedures and expectations. Will work with the department manager on hiring and disciplinary actions.
  • Document and enter all new items into the WMS system as well as keeping the system up to date with any changes to existing items.
  • Performing cycle counts on product to match up the system.
  • Checking for proper rotation (FIFO) on all items in storage.
  • Verifying that all items are being stored in the proper temperature zone.
  • Record all damaged product and or poor quality product that are removed from the system.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities & Physical Requirements):

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years experience in logistics, inventory control, supply management.
  • At least 1 year experience as a supervisor.
  • Knowledge of various fruits and vegetables is desirable.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage concurrent projects, multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Dependable and organized.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications.
  • Knowledge of WMS and /or ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast pace environment and comply with strict time frames and deadlines.

Physical Requirements

  • This position will work in a distribution center. Typically this environment is subject to:
  • Exposure to extreme temperature changes, moisture, noise, odors, and moving equipment.
  • Running forklifts or pallet jacks on occasion
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying up to 75 lbs.
