Position Summary
The Nissan Parts Director is responsible for overseeing the entire operations of the parts department, ensuring efficient processes, profitability, and superior customer service. This role involves managing inventory, leading the parts team, optimizing department performance, and collaborating with other departments to meet the dealership's goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership and Management:
* Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing parts team.
* Set and monitor performance goals for staff, ensuring accountability and motivation.
* Maintain a professional, team-oriented culture within the department.
* Inventory Management:
* Ensure optimal stock levels by monitoring inventory and managing orders based on sales forecasts.
* Coordinate with suppliers to secure high-quality parts at competitive prices.
* Minimize inventory obsolescence and manage returns and warranties efficiently.
* Customer Service:
* Maintain strong relationships with retail customers, wholesale accounts, and service department technicians.
* Resolve customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
* Provide guidance and expertise to help customers identify the correct parts for their vehicles.
* Sales and Profitability:
* Develop and execute strategies to increase sales and profitability.
* Monitor sales reports and adjust operations to meet financial targets.
* Price parts competitively while maximizing profitability.
* Collaboration with Other Departments:
* Work closely with the service department to ensure timely parts delivery.
* Collaborate with the sales department to support vehicle accessory sales.
* Compliance and Reporting:
* Ensure all processes adhere to Nissan's corporate guidelines and dealership policies.
* Provide regular financial and operational reports to dealership management.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized department.
Qualifications and Skills
* Proven experience in a leadership role within a parts department, preferably in a Nissan dealership.
* Strong knowledge of automotive parts and inventory management systems.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
* Proficient in using dealership management software (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds).
* Analytical and problem-solving skills to drive efficiency and profitability.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
