**Job Description:**
The Clinic Care Technician is responsible for providing high-quality patient care within multiple healthcare facilities. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work in various clinical settings, including primary care, specialty clinics, and urgent care. The Float Clinic Care Technician will be assigned to different units based on workload, patient acuity, and staffing needs. The Float Clinic Care Technician works at an entry-level, assisting RN, Physician and other providers with direct patient care in the ambulatory setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted on age-related category.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards.
Float to various departments as assigned, ensuring that patient care is delivered safely and effectively.
Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain clinical competencies.
Qualifications:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to adapt to different clinical settings and patient populations.
Union:
This position will support departments under different contract and non-contract environments including but not limited to, UFCW, USW and non-contract locations. Hired candidates may hold one or more casual positions to work at required sites.
This position will be a member of each contract where applicable based on work sites to allow flexibility to meet the patient needs.
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified, or able to obtain within 3 months
**Education Qualifications:**
Key Responsibilities:
+ Supports and assists providers and clinical staff with administrative and select patient care tasks
+ Supports patient scheduling and work queue needs as assigned
+ Follows up on no-shows and works with providers to review and approve add-ons
+ Greets patients, supports virtual visits, completes identification verification, height, weight and obtains vitals
+ Chaperones exams as needed
+ Administers questionnaires and documents in electronic medical record
+ May perform limited patient care tasks based on training
+ Processes incoming mail, scans, copies, and faxes as needed, prints and updates forms, answers internal phone calls, and may place office supply orders
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Customer service skills
+ Ability to follow direction and perform tasks within scope of role
+ Experience in healthcare or patient care experience
+ Experience using electronic medical record
+ Medical terminology
**Licensure/Certification Qualifications:**
Certification/Licensure Required:
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
