Talent Space, Inc. is looking for a Materials Handler for one of its clients in Santa Rosa CA.Responsibilities:
- Identify process efficiencies and/or productivity enhancements quarterly
- Identify any safety or compliance opportunities, and provide solution oriented feedback through to completion
- Prepare and ship items using the appropriate shipping method, select appropriate shipping container, pack items for safe delivery
- Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct
- Receives and unloads incoming materials and uses available tools to verify accuracy of shipments
- Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received
- Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel
- Traces lost shipments and/or file claims for lost or damaged items
- Routinely performs administrative functions such as maintaining department databases, prepare routine reports, file shipping and receiving records
- Provide one on one training to new employees, in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements
- May operate material handling equipment that could include forklift, electric pallet jacks, shrink-wrap machines, carousels, walkie-stackers, order pickers as needed
- Provide root cause and corrective actions for monthly business fundamentals, that fall out of control, or as requested by direct Supervisor
- Provide first level auditing of job transactions and output for compliance with written processes and required guidelines.
- Partner with direct supervisor on coordination of month end, quarter end, or yearend output requirements
- Flexibility to manage competing priorities, professionally and thoroughly
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, without assistance
Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of previous material handling experience requiredHigh school diploma or equivalentDemonstrated track record of success driving continuous improvement initiativesExperience with Oracle WMS, TA-15, and logistic carrier databases preferredFamiliarity with modern warehousing practices and methodsDemonstrates effective listening and communication (verbal and written) skillsDemonstrated success in a diverse, team-oriented work environmentGood organizational and time management skillsExperience with operation of material handling equipment preferredAbility to type a minimum of 35 WPMExperience with MS Suite of applications including Outlook, Excel, and WordForklift experience is a plus!
