Description & Requirements

Maximus is looking for a Remote Fin Proc Clerk to join our Department of Education team. The Financial Processor within the Credit Bureau Disputes Team will utilize internal systems to investigate and accurately respond to Automated Consumer Dispute Verifications (ACDVs) and Direct Disputes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.

* Prepare account reconciliations and various analyses supporting month end/quarter end financials, and help to ensure the integrity of accounting/financial data.

* Process Automated Consumer Dispute Verifications (ACDVs) using internal systems and eOSCAR (web-based vendor platform) accurately and efficiently. This entails researching the account and responding back to the initiating credit reporting agency.

* Process Direct Disputes accurately and efficiently. This entails reviewing customer correspondence, perform necessary research and respond back to the customer on the outcome of the account review.

* Process remediation projects on an as needed basis.

* Prepare, maintain, report financial exception data collection; explain the variances, identify the causes, and reconcile accounts

* Perform monthly exception review and reporting

* Respond to data requests by providing supporting documentation within specified timeframe

* Utilize financial systems to their maximum potential and make reporting effective, efficient, timely, accurate, and insightful

* Structure reporting to provide effective tools that allow department supervisors to understand variances and make effective decisions around resource allocation

* Work with external auditors during periodic reviews and audits

* Research various exception accounting issues and propose appropriate accounting treatments

* Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

* Employment and continued employment are contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a favorable clearance. Final suitability determination is the sole discretion of the Department of Education.

* Obtaining and Maintaining a PIV-I card is a requirement for this position

PIV-I cards must be picked up in person. (Must live within 100 miles of Jacksonville, FL) New and existing employees may need to travel via car, train, or plane to a designated location to pick up their new or replacement PIV-I card. Any travel expenses will be paid for by Maximus.

Education and Requirements:

* High School degree or GED required

* One (1) year of related work experience required

* Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

* Apply analytical and problem-solving skills

* Effectively prioritize and execute tasks conforming to shifting priorities, demands and timelines

* Strong written and oral communication skills

* Experience in Financial services preferred

Additional Requirements Per Client:

* Must reside in the U.S

* Must be a U.S. Citizen

* Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

* Applicants must be current on federal student loans or must not be delinquent on federal student loan

Home Office Requirements:

* Private and Secure workspace from home

* Access to Wi-Fi, LAN (wired connection/ethernet) or both at home

* Internet provider that offers enough speed for multiple users without latency or lag. (i.e. housemate also WFH, kids playing video games or streaming shows, etc.)

* Internet download speed of 25mbps single/50mbps shared and 5mbps Upload speed or higher required (10 preferred - you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net)

Minimum Requirements

* High School diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years of experience.

* May have training or education in area of specialization.
