Position summary: The Controls Engineer will be responsible for supporting manufacturing operations, creation, delivery, and implementation of continuous improvement solutions, and developing electrical and controls system design solutions based on engineering principles.Job Family: Engineer/TechnicalCompetencies:

Exemplifies flexibility and resourcefulness; responds deftly to a variety of challenges and situations.Essential Responsibilities:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Spend time on the floor to troubleshoot and correct issues to improve processes with automation projectsTroubleshoot and support production equipment using several common systems (PLC, Vision, Robotics, Lasers), or other control platforms as requiredWork with many different aspects of controls, from system definition to design and programmingIntegrate hardware and software solutions for manufacturingDefine necessary capital controls equipment for projectsVision Systems (Keyence, Cognex, and Senso Part)PLC programing Languages and HMI systems used (Allen Bradley, and GE/Emerson)Robot brands (Fanuc, Denso, Epson, and ABB)Experience designing, creating, and updating electrical printsAnalyze plant processes to reduce downtime and scrap for better machine efficiencyMentor Controls Technicians, Controls Apprentice and Assembly technicians as directed by Management.Work from and update the project-tracking list assigned by Controls Engineering Manager.Education & Experience:High School DiplomaA Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with mechanical aptitude/experience; or a Bachelor's Degree in Controls Engineering with automation training/experience; or an Associate's Degree in Electronics/Industrial Electronics and a completed apprenticeship in a related field; or similar.At least 3+ years of experience in Automation/Controls Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering with controls experiencePreferred Experience:3+ years of automation/controls in a manufacturing environmentRobotic integration experience a plusBe versatile in multiple platforms or circuitry and programming languagesAutomation equipment in molding, paint, and assembly departments not excluding robotics, PLC/HMI's, vision, conveyors, smart actuators, laser marking systems, drives, or any other automation equipmentExperience with multiple programming software platforms for PLC, Vision, Robotics, and Servo ActuatorsRockwell Automation integrators certification a plusExperience in Electronics sensors and test equipmentNon-Essential Responsibilities:All other duties as assignedOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Support daily needs of Production in the event of machine downtimeStrong communication skills and a positive attitudeA team-based, creative, and analytical approach to problem solvingExperience with interpreting a customer's specification and translating it into designExperience with database applications, such as SQL Database is a plusExperience with collaborative robots is a plusPneumatics or hydraulic experience is a plusManage multiple projects/programs at one timeDemonstrate ability to lead by mentoring and teaching technical teammates, and apprentices as neededLead continuous improvement projects with your team
