Disability Services AssistantOverview:Cincinnati State is looking for part-time Disability Services Assistant (30 hours a week) to assist with implementing disabilities accommodations authorized by Disabilities Service Compliance Manager, facilitate office operations, and perform complex duties.This position is responsible for receiving visitors, answering phones, responding to emails, scheduling ODS test proctoring and manage in-take appointments and answering questions relating to required student documentation of disability. Limited travel to Cincinnati State locations, meetings or visits as needed.Hours: 11:00am to 7:00pm Monday and Tuesday and 12:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday and ThursdayEssential Duties:
  • Primarily responsible for test proctoring scheduling for registered ODS students approved accommodations.
  • Interaction with instructors to request and process testing materials.
  • Proctor exams for eligible ODS students.
  • Schedule manager in-take meetings.
  • Prepare verification of student accommodation letters for ODS students.
  • Order and update Disability Services webpage.
  • Provide college information/referrals on behalf of ODS students.
  • Collaborate with external partners to assist ODS students.
  • Operate and train staff and students on how to use all assistive technology.
  • Request electronic files from textbook publishers as needed.
  • Research and generate reports regarding student/office statistical data.
  • Per manager request, assist at trainings and presentations and high school fairs, on behalf of Cincinnati State Office of Disability Services.
  • Assist and provide updates, and status on short and long-term projects as provided by manager.
  • Familiar with ADA guidelines.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Social Services, Disability Services or related services. At least 2 years' experience in higher education environment.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, due to ADA compliance.
  • Must have high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Special Education, 2 years' experience working as Intervention Specialist, Counselor with specialty in Disabilities Services.

  • Ability and willingness to work with students of various abilities and diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities.
