About the Agency:
The Virginia Department of Military Affairs State Team provides professional and responsive state support functions to the Adjutant General of Virginia, the Virginia National Guard, the Virginia Air Guard, and the Virginia Defense Force in order to ensure their ability to support and defend the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Purpose of Position:
Provide support in implementing the security access control operational maintenance plan for National Guard facilities which assists the Virginia Army National Guard in sustaining readiness. This position covers all Virginia Army National Guard facilities across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Minimum Qualifications
Electrician license or equivalent combination of experience and training;
Demonstrated low-voltage experience;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment responding to unexpected work assignments or crises;
Demonstrated thorough understanding of maintenance management and electronic security systems;
Working knowledge of facility operational maintenance requirements;
Must be willing and able to travel frequently, occasionally overnight;
Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record required.
Additional Considerations
Knowledge of the Virginia Army National Guard structure preferred;
Journeyman Electrician License preferred.
