Jr. Zero Trust Engineer Virginia 6 month contract-to-hire $50 to $55 per hour contract Job Description: Jr. Zero Trust Engineer We are looking for a skilled and motivated Zero Trust Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, implementing, and maintaining Zero Trust security solutions within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of network architecture and Zero Trust architecture concepts, with a preference for expertise in Illumio technology. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance our cybersecurity posture and ensure robust governance around our Zero Trust framework. Responsibilities

• Design and implement Zero Trust architecture solutions tailored to our organization's specific needs and risk profile.
• Utilize Illumio expertise to deploy and manage micro-segmentation and visibility tools to enhance security and compliance.
• Collaborate with security and IT teams to assess current network architectures and develop strategies for transitioning to a Zero Trust model.
• Assist in the formulation of security policies and governance frameworks that support the implementation and management of Zero Trust principles.
• Conduct regular assessments and audits to ensure adherence to established Zero Trust policies and identify areas for improvement.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to Zero Trust architecture and network security.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders regarding Zero Trust architecture implementations and related inquiries.
• Document processes, policies, and system configurations to maintain clear communication and knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on Zero Trust architecture or network security.
• Familiarity with Illumio or similar micro-segmentation technologies is preferred.
• Strong understanding of network architecture principles and best practices in Zero Trust security.
• Network certifications (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper) are preferred and would be a significant advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security challenges.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
