A successful candidate will be passionate to provide exceptional guest service and ensures passengers' safe, legal, and efficient flow through the busiest airport in Wisconsin. The AOC1s spend their day running the Control Center, inspecting the terminal facilities, and are ready to react and respond to incidents, events, opportunities, and complaints in a professional manner and take appropriate actions. Every day and every shift are different at MKE. AOC1s need to be adaptable, detail-oriented, and can think on their feet in a potentially stressful environment, all while remembering and ensuring compliance with 14 CFR 77, 139, and 49 CFR 1542.

This position exists to comply with Federal Aviation Administration 14CFRPart139 and Transportation Security Administration 49CFRPart1542 regulations required to operate a commercial airport, General Mitchell International Airport (MKE), and a general aviation airport, Lawrence J. Timmerman Airport (MWC). The Airport Operations Coordinator I perform daily inspections to ensure facilities and MWC's airfield are within applicable standards; represents airport management until relieved by higher authority.

Your Job Duties Will Include

* Perform inspections of airport terminal facilities and roadways and evaluate hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions relating to safety and security.

* Document and take appropriate corrective action to prevent personal injury and damage to airport property.

* Monitor, analyze, and respond efficiently to various airport fire, security, weather, and flight tracking systems.

* Answer emergency calls and dispatch Milwaukee County Fire Department (MCFD) in accordance with Airport policies, procedures, and requirements defined in the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS). Collect all pertinent information and relay information to responding MCFD units. Maintain location and status of all MCFD units and be knowledgeable in available resources, agency jurisdictions, and boundaries.

* Assist as a second responder during airport emergencies, incidents, and accidents of various sizes, scopes, and scales. Follow established emergency procedures and ensure compliance with 14 CFR 139 and 49 CFR 1542.

* Take appropriate action to ensure the safe and efficient flow of passengers and traffic through MKE facilities.

* Monitor and ensure that various airport construction and maintenance projects will not harm the safe and efficient operation of the airport facilities or the safety of airport patrons and employees.

* Coordinate international flight arrivals and assist with the coordination of special events, irregular operations, and special weather events. Provide exceptional customer service.

* Perform daily inspections of Lawrence J. Timmerman (MWC) airfield and airport facilities. Ensure compliance with Federal, State, County, and Airport policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and ordinances.

* Assist with customer needs via phone, radio, and various computer-based systems. Disseminate information in an organized manner. Meet with airport users and tenants to resolve routine operational problems, requests, and complaints.

* Manage aircraft assignments for all flexible-use gates, hardstands, and remote parking locations. Ensure compliance with the Flexible Use Resource policies and procedures. Monitor and troubleshoot Air IT gate and ticketing stations.

* Provide and support on-the-job training for new employees.

* Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Authorized to work in USA.

* Valid Driver's License at time of application with the ability to obtain a Wisconsin Driver's license within six (6) months of hire. Must sustain a valid license throughout employment.

* High School Diploma/GED with at least One (1) year of experience in aviation experience. OR

* Bachelor's degree in aviation management or related field only with no experience.

* A high level of aptitude in Customer Service is needed to perform the duties involved with this job.

* Intermediate computer skills necessary, including operating Microsoft Office products, GIS/Asset Management software, and communication platforms (i.e., PASSUR, Emergency Notification System).

* Ability to lift/carry up to 20 lbs. and push/pull up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis.

* Employees must undergo a criminal history background check to maintain security clearance for unescorted access to secured areas of the airport.

Preferred Experience:

* AAAE Airport Certified in Employee Operations
