Ultrasound technician duties include calibrating and manipulating ultrasound equipment to conduct appointments, taking pictures or videos of potential abnormalities, and discreetly notifying medical personnel if they identify something concerning. Other responsibilities of the ultrasound technician include preparing the exam room for examinations, assisting radiologists with vascular ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies, and maintaining sonography equipment. An ultrasound technician must be able to manage several patients and priorities and be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment while working under minimal supervision and cooperating with other team membersQualificationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience:
    • Minimum Required Experience: Minimum 1 year experience as either a student enrolled in accredited program or as a registered staff technologist.
    • Preferred Experience: 2+ year experience
  • Education:
    • Minimum Required Education: Successful completion of ARRT Ultrasound program or meet equivalent ARDMS standards for registry requirements.
    • Preferred Education: Bachelor of Health Science in Radiologic Sciences
  • Licenses:
    • Minimum Required Licenses: KSBHA license
    • Preferred Licenses: N/A
  • Certifications:
    • Minimum Required: BLS
    • RDMS in Abdomen, OB/GYN, or RVT are required as follows:
      • 1) completion of minimum ONE registry (RVT or RDMS Abdomen) within six (6) months of hire
      • 2) Completion of 2nd registry (RDMS Abdomen or RDMS OB/Gyn) within twelve (12) months of employment.
      • 3) completion of the third registry (RDMS Abdomen or RDMS OB/Gyn) within twenty-four (24) months of employment
