The Patient Services Specialists are experienced professionals that deliver an exceptional patient experience through Service-Oriented, Trust, Empathy, Safety, Inclusion, and Communication.Job Responsibilities:
- Schedule appointment requests.
- Communicate insurance participation, financial responsibility and time of service policy.
- Obtain patients' insurance/demographic information and register in EPIC.
- Perform real-time insurance verification and interprets responses. Escalates cases for resolution as appropriate.
- Facilitate team discussions about complex patient scheduling needs.
- Address outstanding Epic work queue accounts.
- Schedule Epic referral.
- General faxing, filing, and mail sorting.
- Provide support and back-up coverage as needed.
- Work on escalated cases with higher complexity as assigned.
- Help to mentor other Specialists to resolve complex issues/cases.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or the equivalent required. Associate's Degree or higher preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience including proficiency in medical terminology. Incumbent must demonstrate strong proficiency in a wide range of scheduling complexity and related workflows.
- Excellent customer service and problem assessment skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software is required and an ability and willingness to learn new systems and programs.
- Prior high volume customer service experience in a call center environment is preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
