DescriptionThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Compare attendance and headcount numbers by reviewing each classroom's daily meal count form. Call teachers and/or kitchen staff to resolve discrepancies.
- Enter meal count totals for monthly reimbursement claims into software programs and ensure tracking accuracy.
- Process and code grocery receipts ensuring accurate charges are going to USDA or separated out to other funders. Enter receipts into the accounting system for payment.
- Maintain appropriate purchasing procedures and tracking methods for the purpose of efficient auditing of operations, to ensure compliance with procurement requirements.
- Monitor Vended Meal Agreements for compliance of CACFP guidelines.
- Complete billing totals and supporting documents for any vended meal agreement that MCCC provides.
- Assist with the multi-state (Oregon and Washington) CACFP annual renewal process to ensure funding.
- Track and monitor child enrollment to the CACFP.
- Ensure all child food intolerances, allergies, and accommodations are accurately completed and tracked as regulated, ensuring all children can safely participate in classroom meals.
- Creates menus for cooks meeting CACFP meal pattern requirements, following a 6-week cycle.
- Ensure standardized recipes are used in food preparations at the centers.
- Ensure receipts match with menus in reconciling purchases, as required for CACFP reimbursement. Complete monthly audit of food purchases at each site.
- Monitor cook reports (i.e. inspections, temperature logs, cleaning logs, etc.).
- Assist with meal observations at each site three times annually as required by CACFP.
- Monitor sanitary standards to safeguard staff and student health.
- Assist in orientation and training of new cooks. Provide ongoing coaching and support to all cooks.
- Attend annual CACFP and/or USDA training. Stay abreast of trends and changes in the specific area of nutrition as it applies to early education programs.
- Participate in the planning and organization of annual CACFP training for all MCCC staff and Provide other CACFP update training as needed.
- Participate in agency activities, including but not limited to annual Self-Assessment (organization-wide process), State and Federal program reviews, and update/review of agency Work Plans.
- Participate as part of the team through sharing work ideas, communicating, problem-solving, and providing mutual support.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings, serving on committees as appropriate.
- Advocate for the MCCC programs in interactions and recruitment efforts with appropriate clients and community affiliates.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of experience providing administrative support.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of professional kitchen experience.
- College coursework or prior employment in a nutrition-related field
