We collaborate with local civil society organizations to prioritize health, reproductive rights, and inclusive systems and services.EngenderHealth is recruiting qualified candidates for the anticipated USAID-funded Accelerating ChoiCe, Equity, and Sustainability for Services (ACCESS) project, expected to begin in mid-2024. This program will focus on advancing equitable, affordable, and sustainable access to family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) information, products, and services. Gender, youth, and health worker priorities focusing on achieving FP/RH-related outcomes through local capacity strengthening are all central to this award.JOB SUMMARYThe Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will be responsible for the overall technical and operational leadership to implement all technical elements of ACCESS. They will serve as acting COP when necessary. The DCOP will lead the technical direction of the project as it seeks to advance equitable, affordable, and sustainable access to FP/RH information, products, and services.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provide technical leadership to the project to support progress towards milestones and anticipated results.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies, work plans, and activities to achieve FP/RH-related outcomes.
  • Supervise the project's technical staff, covering various technical disciplines such as FP, HSS, service integration, policy/advocacy, GYSI, behaviour change communication, etc.
  • Liaise with technical representatives of consortium partners to ensure a harmonized approach towards project goals.
  • Support the project's monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) and knowledge management (KM) activities and deliverables.
  • Work collaboratively with EngenderHealth's country and Washington, DC offices to ensure technical assistance is well-coordinated.REQUIREMENTS
    • Strong project management and advocacy skills, excellent strategic thinking, and prior experience working with staff and stakeholders across multiple countries.
    • Prior experience working with USAID on complex, large-scale programs.
    • Experience preparing, planning for, and taking innovations and approaches to scale.
    • Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain professional relationships with government counterparts.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of French is preferred.
    • Master's degree in social sciences, medicine, public health, development, or related field and/or a medical degree with public health and management expertise.
    • Demonstrated 10-15 years of progressively increasing responsibility for managing and implementing FP and/or related health programs.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience on projects of similar size and complexity.
    • Demonstrated technical expertise in several areas related to family planning.
    • Proven capacity to oversee the development/implementation of work plans and deliverables.
    • More than 5 years of experience in MEL, CLA, and/or adaptive management.ESSENTIAL SOFT SKILLS
