Our teams work together to ensure that technical, policy and political solutions are created to ensure successful results for our clients, particularly in the area of Medicaid financing.About the RoleSellers Dorsey is seeking an Associate Director responsible for client engagements focused on Medicaid strategy and financing within the Georgia Practice. The Associate Director provides direct client consulting and leadership services and is responsible for client relationships at a senior level. This role supports the Managing Director in providing healthcare consulting services and leveraging policy and/or industry expertise in Medicaid policy and finance, as well as managed care within Georgia. The role is responsible for policy guidance, project management, client deliverables and satisfaction, and identification of new and expanded business activities. The Associate Director will also manage direct reports and advise the Managing Director in areas such as staff training/development and utilization, as well as portions of the Practice's daily operations.Key Responsibilities
  • Management of multiple projects/clients, engagements, priorities, and timelines within assigned Practice while ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for delivery of quality project/engagement deliverables to clients on agreed upon schedule to ensure client satisfaction while managing and developing client relationships.
  • Manage and review project/engagement financials internally on a regular basis to ensure that Practice utilization targets are achieved, that projects/engagements are completed on budget and that Firm profitability is maximized.
  • Serve as a key client contact to respond to questions, provide required communications, and be responsible for a successful client engagement.
  • Use personal industry knowledge, connections, business expertise, public policy awareness, and political insight to identify leads that could result in profitable revenue growth for the Firm.
  • Actively seek to identify new business opportunities for the Firm within assigned clients to help maximize long-term benefits and relationship between the client and Sellers Dorsey.
  • Leverage policy and/or healthcare solution expertise to help Managing Director develop, document, and communicate new solutions.
  • Participate in the recruitment, development, utilization, and retention of consulting staff. Provide appropriate mentoring; manage performance feedback, training, and professional development opportunities to help individuals in the Georgia Practice.
  • Communicate and demonstrate regularly and consistently the Firm's value to clients and key stakeholders.
  • Support client development work, drafting scopes of work (SOWs), reviewing proposals, and attending assessments.
  • Participate on existing client contract negotiations for renewals and/or SOWs.Key Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree is required. Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, economics or MBA or additional relevant experience in lieu of such advanced degree preferred.
    • 10 or more combined years in a public healthcare policy management role and/or in the healthcare consulting industry.
    • 10 or more years of progressively responsible work experience in health or human services policy research, consulting and/or in a healthcare service delivery environment and/or with a Medicaid managed care organization, or 5+ years of post-graduate, progressively responsible work experience in consulting or operational experience in health care and/or health policy research/analysis is required.
    • Leadership and/or people management skills.
    • Expertise with Medicaid preferred. Advanced experience at the federal, state, or private health insurance plan industry sector strongly desired.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.Other Requirements
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including relaying complex technical terms in an easy-to-understand manner.
      • Ability to analyze and interpret federal and state policies and regulations.
      • Ability to interact professionally with clients and other outside audiences.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required; experience in quantitative program evaluation is highly desirable.
      • The ability to work effectively independently and in teams.
      • Experience delivering services on several projects simultaneously.The anticipated salary range for candidates is $121,800 /year in our lowest geographic market range to up to $155,000 /year in our highest geographic market range. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, the candidate's education, and the candidate's market location. Typically, candidates are not hired near the top of the range and compensation decisions are made based upon Sellers Dorsey's Total Compensation Policies & Guidelines. The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in our annual Corporate Incentive Plan (CIP) that can range to up to 10% of annual salary.Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, the successful candidate (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, and vision and for insurance plans offering short term disability, long term disability, and basic life. Employees are also able to enroll in Sellers Dorsey's 401k plan provided they meet plan requirements. Sellers Dorsey offers a Flexible Time Off that allows employees to use what they need.
