DescriptionThe Associated Students of CSU, Chico is recruiting for Residential Dining Front of House Service Supervisor. This is a full-time, academic-year (1400 hours), non-exempt position. The pay range begins at $18.00 - $21.07/hr; placement in range is dependent upon experience with new hires typically beginning at the base of the range. The anticipated schedule is Thursday through Sunday with Monday, Thursday and Sunday 2:30pm - 11:00pm and Friday and Saturday 1:30pm - 10:00pm. This schedule qualifies for a shift differential rate of pay of a minimum of $19.35/hr. Should this schedule change and no longer qualify for shift differential, a minimum of the base pay rate of $ 18.00/hr will apply to all hours worked.Associated Students offers excellent benefits to include medical, dental and vision insurance with a generous employer contribution toward the cost. Applications reviewed upon receipt.RESIDENTIAL DINING FRONT OF HOUSE SERVICE SUPERVISORSUMMARYThis is a supervisory position with general responsibility for the food set up, serving and clean-up operations and functions at Dining Services facilities. Under general direction to train and supervise food service and clean-up staff; to monitor portion control, quality, sanitation, and housekeeping; and to do related work as required.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plans, directs, and supervises serving area, clean-up, and dish washing operations (where applicable) at assigned facility.
- Monitors food presentation, customer levels, and customer comments and complaints to improve service.
- Monitors menus, determines serving portions and ensures that serving areas and supplies are ready for business. Communicates shortages of food products to production staff as needed.
- Ensures proper sanitation, food handling, and safety in the serving area.
- Prepares for daily closing, ensuring that all food items are removed and properly stored.
- Monitors equipment functioning and reports problems requiring maintenance or repair.
- Trains and directs the work of designated staff, establishes work schedules, and ensures proper coverage for business levels.
- Assists in event planning and employee trainings as needed.
- Enforces all organization policies and procedures to include operations, personnel and finance.
- Works with the other supervisors and managers regarding operations, personnel and administrative problems.
- Represents department with the campus community, other organizations, and the public, establishing and maintaining good customer relations.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Six (6) months full-time or part-time equivalent experience in food and beverage or retail industries.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in employee training and event planning preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must currently have a California Food Handlers Card or a Serv Safe Certification or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
