Unless specifically stated otherwise, this role is On-Site at the location detailed in the job post.Minimum Salary$32.71Maximum Salary$32.71job-details.job-description-titleThe Field Inspector is an entry level position in Construction responsible to plan, organize, and direct the activities of contractors performing outside plant construction and inside plant construction and in support of projects/programs sponsored by Substation Operations, Electric Operations, Gas Operations, Steam Operations, United Shared Services and EH&S Remediation. The oversight within Central Construction is associated with contractor oversight within Unit, Transmission and Distribution Substations, Generating stations, Facilities construction, and Remediation and Demolition construction. Ensure all work is done in strict compliance with all the applicable company specifications, standards and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.job-details.job-responsibilities-titleCore ResponsibilitiesEnhance the customer experience, of both internal and external customers by developing a proactive, customer-centric culture to foster trust and confidence and improve value for all our stakeholders.Ensure adherence to Company safety, health and environmental programs. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with company policy and governmental regulations.Ensure that the contractors means and methods conform to their HASP and local, state, and federal regulations. Ensure contractor work is conducted within stipulations required by applicable permits, guidelines, and minimize quality of life issues for the community we serve.Ensure the contractors competent person conducts and documents the Job Briefing. Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations and when needed as circumstances require, Safety Stand-down, and/or relevant OJTs with contractors.Ensure all code 753 and M Scope requirements are implemented on every applicable job.Read and interpret company plates, specifications and engineering and shop drawings to prevent damages and ensure compliance.Schedule controlled and compliance inspections on projects that are applicable.Conduct field inspections to ensure that all company facilities are constructed, protected, supported, maintained in accordance with all applicable engineering designs, specifications, procedures, and/or building codes.Ensure contractor performance is reported using the CFOR through the Contractor Oversight System (COS) and report all contractor incidents through Infraction Reports and Action Lines. Ensure close out in compliance with the corrective action plan.Maintain required project field documentation including daily logs, timesheets, etc. on contractor activities utilizing the companys computer systems/applications.Record field measurements and prepare job folders, job books and timesheets for payment process.Respond and rectify customer and municipality complaints and violations.Establish and maintain professional, effective, timely, and consistent communication with all customers and all required company and external agency personnel.Communicate and enforce operational and procedural changes when required.Respond to and investigate environmental and safety incidents involving construction projects.Respond to contractor damages and prepare damage investigation reports as required.Ensure that the contractor is properly signed into the company facility and has the required security badge to perform work for the day.Complete and maintain all necessary training associated with title, including but not limited to Asbestos Project Monitor License, Field Inspector block training, Work Permits and Operating orders for Substations and Generating stations, Angle of Repose and Enclosed Space Entry and Rescue as required for job function.Respond to company-wide events, such as storm emergencies, heat alerts, damage assessment, feeder patrols, etc.Maintain a valid drivers license.May perform other tasks and assignments as needed.Additional Qualifications/Responsibilitiesjob-details.job-qualifications-titleRequired Education/ExperienceHigh School Diploma/GED and 2 Years' Work ExperiencePreferred Education/ExperienceAssociate's DegreeBachelor's DegreeRelevant Work Experience2 years Field Construction work experience PreferredSkills And AbilitiesMust be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.Ability to build strong customer relationshipsEffective interpersonal skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated problem solving skillsEffective conflict management skillsDemonstrated time management and priority setting skillsLicenses And CertficationsDriver's License RequiredPhysical DemandsAbility to respond to system emergenciesAble to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or coldAbility to work in adverse conditions that include, noise, confined spaces, and high elevationsAbility to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)Ability to be approved to wear and use either a full or half-face respirator, without facial hair or other conditions that may interfere with the seal, in accordance with OSHA regulationsStand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workdayAbility to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingenciesWear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnessesWork rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends, and holidaysUse personal vehicle(s), and be able to transport, store, and secure company laptops and other job-related equipment in vehicle.
