Job Description - Part-time Human Resources AssistantThe HR Assistant is responsible for performing Human Resources related duties on a professional level and work closely with the HR Manager. This position will perform responsibilities in the following areas, not limited to: recruitment/employment, onboarding, policy implementation, benefits, employee relations and employee law compliance while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and validity in the HR processes.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAll employees are required to perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs, external regulations, and internal policies, bring compliance issues to the attention of management and assure quality customer service to all customers. Employees must comply with traffic legislation, be conscious of road safety, demonstrate safe driving, and other good road safety habits while driving their personal vehicle for work purposes.
  • Assist in the day to day operations of the HR Department
  • Utilize HR software and applicant tracking system to post positions and screen applicants.
  • Performs the administration of the entire employee life cycle, including personnel selection, onboarding, and the separation process.
  • Process drug screens and background checks.
  • Maintain welcome packets for new hires.
  • Completes payroll and payroll reports and maintains payroll records.
  • Supports management and staff regarding HR guidelines and employment law.
  • Monitors and assists with annual HR compliance training.
  • Maintains the attendance tracking system.
  • Manages employee relations activities by coordinating with HR Manager/Director of Operations in developing, implementing, and monitoring programs to promote positive employee relations.
  • Assists in the local implementation and compliance of all personnel, compensation, and benefit programs (e.g., annual merit, performance evaluation, unemployment insurance).
  • Assists in monitoring the administration of the leave of absence and short-term disability/salary continuation/LTD programs.
  • Consults with HR Manager, local management and risk management in the areas of return-to-work, light-duty and corrective action issues related to on-the-job injuries.
  • Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of employee files and other HR records. Ensures compliance with Federal and State regulatory postings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEDUCATION: Associate degree in HR or related field or equivalent of 4 years HR/admin experience.Strong communication and administrative skills desired. Ability to proactively resolve employee concerns and anticipate employee needs by offering exceptional customer service. Must be familiar with database systems and common HR applications.EXPERIENCE: Previous recruiting, onboarding, and payroll experience is a plus.
