This role is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas and People Leadership. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Excellent communication skills are required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.Responsibilities:
- Take the lead on the design, implementation, and successful delivery of large-scale or significantly difficult software solutions.
- Design approaches and contribute noteworthy code that simplifies or improves architectural quality.
- Deliver artifacts that set the standard for engineering excellence.
- Lead and actively participate in design reviews, aligning teams towards coherent architectural strategies.
- Actively recruit and participate in the hiring/interview process.
- Play a significant role in the career development of others.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and benchmark our technology against competitors.
- Contribute to intellectual property.
- Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation.Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience in a senior Engineering or Technology Leadership role.
- Significant experience building complex business and/or transactional models.
- Ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
- First-class leadership and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and talent management skills.Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree in Engineering.
