This EHS Specialist role is accountable for performing daily routine and mission critical safety tasks for the Lumber facility in Ocala, FL by creating solutions that are in the best interest of the customer and Company.
A successful candidate must have exceptional analytical skills and the initiative to take action within a fast-pace environment. They are capable in building partnerships with multiple functions and instrumental in driving safety culture within the organization at all levels.
Reports to: Sr EHS Lead
Span of Control: People Leader
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with Sr EHS Lead and EHS Technician on building a Plant safety strategy to align with company safety initiatives
- Development, implementing, and executing safety initiatives to strive to meet safety measures including but not limited to incident/accident reporting procedures, safety plans on evacuations, first responders organization, risk assessments, monthly/quarter safety training, safety assessments, and primary/salaried ongoing training
- Partnering with our People Leaders and Primary employees on best safety practices including coordinating and appropriate planning
- Creating and overseeing routine safety and health strategies to meet end of year results
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in an EHS related field
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Environmental & Safety role
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) required
- Experience in a manufacturing environment in areas including machine guarding and lock out tag out
