Summary:The retail sales clerk is responsible for obtaining or receiving merchandise, totaling bills, accepting payments and making change for customers in retail store. Additionally, responsible to ensure operations occur in a safe and clean environment by performing general cleaning duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:•Assisting volunteers and store manager with store operations.•Receive and process donations.•Stock shelves, counters or tables with merchandise.•Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.•Stamp, mark or tag prices on merchandise.•Train and monitor volunteers.•Obtain merchandise requested by customer or receive merchandise selected by customer.•Answer customer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise.•Answer phones and assist customers in professional manner.•Total price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill.•Accept payment and make change. Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.•Remove and record amount of cash in register at end of shift as directed.•Open and close store as directed.•Track supplies for reordering•Keep record of sales, prepare inventory of stock and order merchandise.•Keep the showroom clean and orderly.•General cleaning duties, including empty waste baskets daily, dry mop sales floor daily, sweep donations area daily, vacuum entry rugs daily, vacuum mats at cash registers daily, wipe down checkout counter, and coffee counter daily.•Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards.•Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.•Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.•Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the department's ability to meet its goals and objectives.Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:•Perform other duties as assigned.Professional Requirements:•Complete annual education requirements.•Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.•Report to work on time and as scheduled.•Wear identification while on duty.•Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.•Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.•Comply with all organizational policies.•Conduct oneself as a professional in accordance with PRIDE values.•Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.•Attend regular staff meetings and in-services.Job Requirements:•High school diploma or G.E.D.•Previous retail or customer service experience.Organizational/Core Competencies:•Exceed Quality.•Exceed Customer Expectations.•Grow Team Members.•Increase Market Share.•Exceed Budget Expectation.•Strengthen, Build, and Leverage Community Relationships.
