Job Title: Diesel TechnicianLocation: Dublin, VAJob Type: Contract to Hire, Full-timeShift: 1st ShiftPay Rate: Up to $38.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)Job Summary:Our client in Dublin, VA, is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Diesel Technician to join their dynamic and growing team. We're looking for someone who excels in both entry-level and medium-skill applications and is eager to advance toward master certifications. Our client's team-first culture fosters growth and promotes from within, offering technicians a clear path to progress in their careers.Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including oil changes, tire balancing and rotation, and cooling system flushing.
    • Inspect and test-drive newly delivered vehicles for damage or missing components.
    • Accurately perform work outlined on the repair order and communicate with the service advisor if the work order needs revision or if repairs cannot be completed on time.
    • Document all work performed, save and tag parts under warranty or as requested by the customer.
    • Sell lubrication, safety inspections, and other related services, and maintain customer records, following up as needed.
    • Coordinate with the parts department to obtain necessary parts.
    • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training and stay updated on technical bulletins.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, being accountable for dealership-owned tools and manuals.
    • Perform in-service upfits to customer trucks according to repair orders.
Required Skills/Abilities:
    • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know).
    • Possession of a quality tool set (specialty tools provided by the company).
Bonus Skills/Abilities:
    • CDL (Class B with Air Brake)
    • Volvo/Mack Certifications
    • Cummins Certification
Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
    • Ability to work in a noisy area with various odors.
    • Ability to inspect vehicles and determine necessary repairs.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
