THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Under the direction of the Background Check Administrative Officer, you will monitor and oversee the work productivity for the Pennsylvania Child Abuse History clearance process, the Adam Walsh Unit (FBI clearance) process, the National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR) verification process, and the Care Check and Out of States for Adoption/Foster Care processes. You will be responsible for monitoring incoming calls and assisting staff. You will oversee clerical assistants to ensure the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law (CPSL), the federal and state statute, and the relevant Child Protective Services Regulations are adhered to and implemented precisely and promptly. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding children by thoroughly conducting background checks on individuals. By preventing individuals with a history of child abuse or neglect from having access to children, your work will help to minimize the risk of harm to children. Through your diligence and attention to detail in the clearance processes, you will greatly contribute to the protection and well-being of the children we serve.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

+ Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week)

+ Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

+ One year as a Clerical Supervisor 1; or

+ One year as a Clerical Assistant 3; or

+ Two years as a Clerical Assistant 2; or

+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

+ This position requires the possession of keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
