Body Fit Plus is hiring for correctional facility in Tehachapi, California.

Job Details: Recreational Therapist

  • Location : Correctional Facility in Tehachapi, California
  • Pay Rate $61 to $67 Per Hour + Quarterly Bonus
  • Schedule : 6 to 9 months Full Time Contract Eligible for extension

Requirements: Recreational Therapist

  • Twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years rendering direct patient care in public or private institution. Clinical competencies must be current
  • Valid Photo ID Drivers License or Passport (Required)
  • Possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association
  • NATIONAL or CA Recreational Therapist Certificate

Duties/Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to: Recreational Therapist

  • Communicate changes in patients condition to Director of Recreational Therapy and interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Provide pertinent feedback to the interdisciplinary treatment team regarding patient response to therapy, treatment interventions, and therapeutic objectives, as appropriate and necessary.
  • Provides assessment in psychosocial/leisure and recreation skills development/deficiency.
  • Ensure timely documentation of interventions and ensure interventions are based on the patients plan of care.
  • Teach coping skills and stress management techniques to patients and display a balance leisure lifestyle.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of counseling and therapeutic concepts and methods for determining therapeutic services for psychiatric, traumatic, and chemically dependent patients.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of group dynamics as well as therapy and practice of group processing.
