Lead, Inspire, and Make an Impact as the Executive Director of Camping Services at the YMCA!

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for camping, youth development, and community building? The YMCA is seeking a dynamic Executive Director of Camping Services to oversee three resident camp locations, YMCA Camp Whittle (Fawnskin, CA), YMCA Camp Marcil at Round Meadow (Angelus Oaks, CA), and YMCA Camp High Sierra (Mammoth, CA). This high-impact role focuses on strategic leadership, regulatory compliance, board development, and fundraising to ensure the long-term success of our camping services. ?

What You'll Do:

* Oversee Operations: Lead the strategic planning, program delivery, and operational excellence across three resident camp locations. Provide leadership and oversight of capital renovation projects at YMCA Camp Whittle.

* Board Development: Recruit and work closely with the volunteer board of directors to build strong governance, drive mission alignment, and engage in strategic decision-making.

* Fundraising Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies for both Annual and Capital Campaigns, including cultivating donor relationships, securing major gifts, and leading capital campaigns.

* Team Leadership: Inspire and mentor a team of directors, ensuring the camps deliver safe, high-quality experiences that align with the YMCA's values.

* Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, volunteers, and stakeholders to advance the mission of the YMCA.

What We're Looking For:

* Visionary Leadership: Proven experience in overseeing camp operations (preferably multiple sites) , staff leadership, and strategic planning.

* Fundraising Expertise: Strong track record in securing major gifts, developing donor relationships, and leading successful fundraising campaigns, including developing and maintaining funding sources, both public and private.

* Board Development Skills: Experience working with and developing nonprofit boards to achieve mission-driven goals.

* Operational Experience: Proven ability to manage budgets, ensure operational efficiency, and oversee multi-site operations.

* Passion for Camping: A commitment to creating transformative outdoor experiences for youth and families.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in a related field (master's degree preferred).

* Minimum of 5-7 years of leadership experience in resident camping, experience in resident camping programs, business operations, community involvement, relationship building, program/business line development.

* Experience with resident camp and American Camp Association (ACA) guidelines

* Y-USA Multi-Team Leader Certification (or equivalent) required within two years and must begin working towards certification within 6 months.

* Current Certification in Basic Life Support, First Aid, AED, Oxygen Administration required within 60 days of hire

* Proven success in fundraising and board development.

* Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
