Our Service Department team knows that what they do is a lot bigger than servicing customer's vehicles.

This team is a strategic partner within the bustling Service Team at Serra Kalkaska, collaborating and inspecting vehicles to ensure the safety of our customer's vehicles.

Service Department team members provide these services thanks to an established process for proven success.

What's it like to be a Serra Kalkaska Express Service Advisor?

As an Express Service Advisor, you will assist customers with requests for maintenance and repairs and ensure vehicles are being processed in a timely manner. In addition, you will share responsibility to oversee the express service process including initial customer contact, quality verification of repairs, completion of paperwork, delivery to the customer as well as recommending future maintenance services.

What are the job qualifications and opportunities?

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Primary responsibilities:

  • Ensure high quality service is provided to every express customer
  • Departs from traditional ways of doing things to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Responds to customer inquiries and requests
  • Follows up with customers to make certain we've met their needs and they are satisfied
  • Contacts customers to remind them of maintenance and repair needs

Can work effectively with others:

  • Maintains composure and is courteous when dealing with customers and fellow employees
  • Implements and values change
  • Shifts priorities and goals as work demands change
  • Effectively resolves conflicts with customers and employees

Can manage complexity:

  • Monitors workload to determine the amount of work that can be accommodated and communicated this with co-workers
  • Acts quickly to implement plans, organizes work efficiently and follow up
  • Estimates cost and completion times / settles customer accounts
  • Coordinates activities to ensure work is fixed right the first time
  • Inspects finished repair orders for completion, accuracy and legibility
  • Answers incoming phone calls promptly and courteously
  • Maintains and updates customer records and file
  • Identifies ways to improve operations and customer service

Understands and can use business knowledge

  • Advises customers on the care of their vehicles
  • Explains technical information about repairs to customers
  • Uses technology to communicate with customers
  • Learns about product lines, services and vehicle maintenance schedules
  • Participates in dealership and manufactures training

Education requirements:

  • High School/GED
  • Valid and approved drivers license
  • Acceptable background check
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS*

- Prolonged periods of standing and bending to repair and inspect vehicles.
