The Maine Department of Labor is looking for someone to work with businesses and job seekers across Maine.This is professional work providing employment consultative services to a job seekers and Maine businesses. Primary responsibilities include responding to announcements of business downsizing or closure, coordinating and facilitating information sessions to affected workers, presenting reemployment services information to large groups (up to several hundred) of dislocated workers, developing and maintaining partner relationships with local and regional service providers. Work also includes conducting presentations to regional employers, industry associations, and community agencies and, referring businesses to economic development and other business support resources to facilitate job opportunities for affected workers, promote lay off aversion and encourage job retention.The MDOL/Bureau of Employment Services believe our employees should reflect the diversity of the populations we serve, including racial, cultural and ethnic diversity and people with disabilities.
