DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in the construction process by accurately assessing project costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and project management, with proficiency in estimating software. This position requires excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create accurate bids.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and potential challenges.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget.
- Conduct regular cost control assessments and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
- Proficiency in estimating software. - Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in pricing and budgeting.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies is preferred. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
