Day to Day:
The primary function of this role will be to originate and manage a portfolio of commercial and ag loans, with the overall object of maintaining and increasing asset quality; to develop new and existing business relationships, and sustain consistent high quality loan growth that meets the banks goals and objectives. Other day-to-day functions may include:
* Solicit interview and respond to loan applications and/or referrals.
* Manage all aspects of an assigned portfolio of loans and relationships
* Structure and analyze new and renewed loan requests and assign accurate and timely risk grades.
* Assist in the development and implementation of strategies for the delivery of quality and effective customer service.
* Assist in the development and implementation of strategies for the production and growth of high quality loans.
* Develop and maintain a loan sales culture and environment.
* Implement strategies to maximize new and existing loan relationships.
* Analyze and evaluate the management skills and abilities of loan customers.
* Ensure effective delivery of sales and service training programs relating the bank's loan products.
* Under the direction of senior management, assist in the determination of the appropriate loan product mix needed to develop market potential and provide guidelines in development of market and profit plans related to the lending strategies of the bank.
* Preparation of accurate and high quality credit write-ups and loan presentations to the loan committees and other loan approval authorities.
* Complete and document accurate financial analysis, including accurate project and global cash flow analysis for loan customers
* Effectively monitor existing loan relationships, including financial and collateral monitoring, loan covenants and required reporting requirements (Borrowing Base Certificates, etc.).
* Maximize non-interest income through sales activities and collection of loan fees.
* Manage controllable expenses for the lending market within targeted profit plans levels for the bank's lending operations for the branch.
* Maintain a working knowledge and comply with the bank's Problem Loan Procedures outline.
* Effectively communicate with customers, other lenders, lending staff, loan operations staff, senior management, etc.
* Conduct collateral inspections and other field inspections for loan customers.
* Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Experience:
You may be wondering what we are looking for in a candidate. Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor's degree or formal certification recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree with three to five years of similar or related experience preferred but not required. Candidates should have knowledge of commercial and ag lending practices, policies, and procedures. Must be comfortable generating high quality loan growth, including the production of assigned loan volume goals and objectives. Experience analyzing business financial statements and assessing the viability of businesses is a must. Additionally, candidates should possess strong communication skills both oral and written.
