Position: Industrial Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Mapleton, IL 61547 (Fully Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months contract

Pay Rate: $47-50/hour
Summary:
- The main function of a supply chain engineer is to work on New Capital Introduction (NCI) projects' supply chain activities.
- The candidate must have solid decision-making skills and be a critical thinker while working on various tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Material Flow studies and proposals.
- Storage studies and proposals.
- NCI checklist alignment and completion.
- Logistics documentation (Standard Work, PFMEA, Control Plan, SFMEA etc.).
Experience:
- Work in factory environment to support supply chain / logistics operations (minimum 5 years)
- Work as Supply Chain / Logistics / Industrial engineer (minimum 5 years)
- Engineering degree (Mechanical / Manufacturing / Industrial / Supply Chain)

- The role provides critical support to ongoing New Capital Introduction (NCI) within Client Mapleton facility to be success.

Typical task breakdown:
- Follow NCI (New Capital Introduction) Process Flow / Checklist and Gate Reviews.
- Collaborate with customer groups, Facilities / Maintenance, Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, EHS, accounting and purchasing are involved in the approval process.
- Be responsible to achieve desired outputs on multiple concurrent individual and team projects.
- Develop plans for facilities projects, prepare and establish priorities for cost effectiveness, manage budgeting and purchasing matters pertaining to these projects.
- Work with Internal / External Suppliers to plan & implement facility wide projects to assure efficient and cost-effective systems and processes to produce quality products.
- Coordinate compatibility of existing and new assets and/or systems.
- Provide direction and guidance to other project owners to assure the most efficient and sustainable effect on the facility.
- Ensure implementation of modern technology and verify the effectiveness related to facility processes modifications.
Interaction with team:
- Interactions with daily in person meetings with peers and suppliers.
- This is a very much team role as it has dependencies tied with a wide group of stake holders from Advance Planning, Current Manufacturing and Operation, Facility Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality and Safety.
Work environment:
- Client office, foundry / machining factory.
Technical Skills:
(Required)
- Full time work experience of minimum of 5 years in heavy machinery manufacturing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus
- Product knowledge of engine block casting and machining processes,
- Project Management, Negotiating skills, Analytical Thinking.
- Good knowledge of Windows Office 365 applications - excel, advanced excel, PPT, Word etc.
- Previous experience with process improvement, layouts, flow, PPAP, and Advanced Manufacturing process
- Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures, especially those with supplier impact
(Desired)
- Candidates located in the Midwest (~600 miles from Peoria metro).
- Able to start at Client Mapleton IL ASAP.
Soft Skills:

- Very good written and verbal communication
- Very good negotiation skills and able to respond in short turnaround times
- Able to work with multiple stake holders in a matrix team structure.
Disqualifiers/Red Flags:
- If it is ex-Client employees, need to get input from previous Client work director.
- NO previous work experience in heavy machinery manufacturing.
- NO previous work experience in logistics / supply chain operations.
- NO degree.
