Senior Interior Designer – High-End Residential Design

Our client, a prestigious Manhattan-based Interior Design firm specializing in high-end residential projects, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Interior Designer to join their dynamic team. Known for creating sophisticated, elegant spaces that blend architecture and interior design, this firm takes pride in crafting residences that reflect the unique lifestyles of their clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Project Management: Oversee all aspects of project design, from programming and conceptualization to final installation, ensuring accuracy and quality at every stage.
  • Client Engagement: Provide exceptional customer service and manage communications with high-profile clientele, maintaining professionalism and clarity throughout the design process.
  • Project Coordination: Handle budgeting, scheduling, and reporting project status while coordinating with contractors, vendors, and team members to deliver seamless execution.
  • Creative Direction: Lead design, decoration, and planning efforts, including custom furnishings, material selection, and fine art integration.
  • Construction Administration: Oversee construction documents, site visits, and follow-ups to ensure adherence to design intent and project timelines.
  • Leadership: Guide and mentor junior team members, ensuring effective collaboration and fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in NYC high-end residential interior design, with a proven track record in full-cycle project management.
  • Education: BA in Interior Design or Architecture (preferred).
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and familiarity with Studio Designer or similar purchasing platforms.
  • Industry Knowledge: Extensive understanding of New York trade sources and materials, including custom furnishings, fine art and antiques, and millwork design.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
