Job Title: Technical Engineer, Rubber Products

Pay: $75,000 - $100,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Lebanon, KY

Shift: 1st Shift (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Position Summary

The Technical Engineer provides technical expertise for the Rubber Products department, focusing on product development, process optimization, and production activities. This role involves developing and implementing manufacturing processes, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring project objectives are met. Equipment refers to any machinery used in the manufacturing or assembly of our products, such as assembly machines, jigs, and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Develop and manage master engineering schedules. Lead, coordinate, and supervise to meet all project milestones.
  • Equipment and Tooling: Write specifications for equipment and tooling, and oversee design, installation, start-up, and testing.
  • Capital Investments: Prepare necessary documentation for capital investments and seek management approval.
  • Process Optimization: Establish manufacturing processes that achieve KPIs, including part cost, cycle time, quality, and safety.
  • Documentation: Create all required documentation (specifications, PFMEA, risk analysis, etc.) for process compliance and improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead Kaizen activities and continuously enhance processes to prevent defects.
  • Problem Solving: Conduct root cause analysis to address and prevent recurring issues.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to OSHA, EPA, and TGKY safety standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical engineering principles and equipment design.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with customers and suppliers.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated project management and leadership skills.
  • Lean Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with Toyota Production System and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong work ethic and accountability, with a high level of productivity.
  • Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with TS and ISO requirements.
  • Cross-Cultural Experience: Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.

Education and Experience

  • Required: BS in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

Skills

  • Technical Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, Project), AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
  • Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in calculus, trigonometry, and advanced mathematical concepts for analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Reasoning Ability: Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, and deriving solutions from technical instructions and various variables.

Physical Demands

While performing job duties, the employee must frequently use hands for handling tools and equipment, stand for extended periods, and occasionally lift items up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, moderate noise levels, occasional high places, and varying climate conditions.

Position Type and Expected Hours

This is a full-time position, with standard hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Overtime and weekend work may be required as needed.
