This position works to provide testing as needed and on a schedule according to state and federal guidelines. Qualifications
  • Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous standardized testing administration experience
  • Applicant must complete the NC Department of Adult Corrections background check form. Please contact the Greene County Continuing Education Programs Coordinator/Instructor at 252-###-#### for additional information
  • Previous HiSET testing experience preferred
Working Conditions
  • Office environment
  • Infrequently lifting and carrying items up to 15 lbs
  • Infrequently bending and twisting at the waist
  • Day and evening work hours
  • Frequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a computer display, keyboard, mouse and telephone
  • Traveling between different sites for test administration
Essential Functions and Responsibilities The duties of the Transitional and Career Studies Corrections Testing Assistant include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate pre and post-testing for students in the correctional facilities
  • Administer the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), the HiSET, the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS), and the National Career Readiness Certificate exam in the correctional facilities
  • Prepare and submit all required paperwork in a timely manner meeting all deadlines with accuracy and detail
  • Possess knowledge of policies and practices of state and federal regulations for testing and reporting
  • Administer the HiSET on campus in an emergency in the absence of the Chief Examiner
  • Maintain Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) certification - this is an annual renewal
  • Follow all Department of Corrections policies and procedures
  • Follow all manufacturer requirements when administering a test
  • Possess knowledge and proficiency with computer and office equipment
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Other duties as assigned
