Uphold all policy, procedures, and safety standards for the wellbeing of staff and campers.?Be an active participant in?campers' experience and?camp?programming.? This seasonal full-time position is needed at Camp Alice Chester in East Troy, WI from May 27, 2025 through July 26, 2025.RequirementsWhat You'll Do
- Operate camp trading post.
- Manage the trading post system for overnight campers
- Run trading post cash register
- Assist campers in purchasing items
- Manage purchases and expenditures
- Distribute and collect credit cards
- Collect receipts
- Manage petty cash and petty cash report
- Code expenses in credit card system
- Take pictures and upload photos to external communication platform (Campanion).
- Organize and distribute camp rosters weekly
- Update and distribute weekly newsletters.
- Organize check in and check out for overnight camp
- Print daily camper emails
- Assist with answering camp phone.
- Prepare and conduct pre-camp and in-service staff trainings.
- Assist in ordering, driving and shopping if needed.
- Ability to adjust quickly when scheduled activities need to change and/or are no longer able to be done.
- Participate in the upkeep and cleaning of camp and units.
- Interpret, enforce and implement state, American Camp Association and Girl Scouts safety guidelines and standards?
- Assist with the opening and closing of camp.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are & Keys To Success
- At least 18 years of age.
- Interest in specific program specialty.
- Comfort and ability to live, sleep, and work in a rustic outdoor environment with irregular work hours.
- Physical demands and work environment regularly requires the employee to walk, hike, and work outdoors in wooded areas.
- Ability to lift 40lbs.
- Commitment to creating and maintaining a positive, fun, and professional environment.
- Effectively and respectfully communicate instructions, issues, and needs with campers, staff, and supervisors including with people across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities, and races.
- Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout program and enroll as a Girl Scout member.
- Willingness to be an active respectful member of camp and all camp activities while upholding Girl Scout traditions.
- Must have background check completed by GSWISE.
These Skills are a Plus
- Experience and/or training in specific program specialty.
- First Aid/CPR certification
