Summary
The Accounting Manager will play a key role in overseeing the financial close
process, managing internal controls, and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of
our accounting functions. This position requires a strong understanding of
accounting principles, technical accounting research skills, and the ability to
lead and develop a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Close Process:
Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process
for Times North America while overseeing and reviewing the close process for
Times China and Times India.
Manage all reporting requirements for Amphenol HQ.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance
with GAAP.
Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring all transactions are
accurately recorded.
Monitor and report on any discrepancies or issues that arise during the
close process.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Operations, Purchasing) to ensure
completeness and accuracy of data.
Internal Controls:
Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring
compliance with Amphenol policies.
Monitor and review financial transactions to ensure adherence to internal
controls and accounting policies.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure accurate and
timely audits.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies related to
accounting and financial reporting.
Tax Reporting:
Oversee and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax reporting
requirements.
Prepare and review tax filings, including sales tax, property tax, and
corporate income tax returns in conjunction with the Amphenol Tax Department.
Assist in managing tax audits and address any issues related to tax matters.
Technical Accounting:
Utilize knowledge of U.S. GAAP to serve as resource for any technical
accounting questions (e.g., revenue recognition, inventory valuation, etc.)
Prepare memos summarizing company's accounting position around unique
transactions.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
Supervise and mentor a small team of accountants, providing training and
development to improve their skills.
Foster a collaborative environment with other departments, including
operations, sales, and procurement, to improve financial processes and
reporting.
Assist senior leadership with ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis to
support business decision-making.
Other Duties:
Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and
regulations.
Stay current on changes in accounting, tax laws, and financial reporting
best practices.
Job Requirements
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in
a managerial role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience managing a monthly financial close process, including creating
and posting recurring and one-time journal entries.
In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and
tax compliance.
Experience with large ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and
Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, including cost accounting
and inventory management.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Graduate degree in Accounting preferred
CPA or CMA designation (preferred)
