This role is pivotal in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and maintaining expense policy standards. What You'll DoPayroll Responsibilities:
- Review payroll systems for compliance with federal and state laws while aligning with internal business needs.
- Partner with Accounting, HR, and field teams to identify and implement process improvements.
- Oversee the biweekly, multi-state payroll processing for salaried, hourly, full-time, and part-time employees.
- Streamline new hire and payroll-related change processes.
- Manage internal and external payroll audits and generate ad hoc reports as needed.
- Process garnishments, support orders, and other mandatory withholdings.
- Prepare and file monthly and quarterly reports for agencies.
- Optimize Time and Attendance data to improve payroll efficiency.
- Collaborate with management to enhance payroll procedures.
Expense Responsibilities:
- Audit employee expenses to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Process and approve policy changes and P-card requests promptly.
- Maintain accurate records and provide necessary documentation.
- Communicate updates to expense policies and provide training on reimbursement procedures.
- Continuously improve expense management systems and tools.
- Collaborate with leadership to implement system upgrades.
What We're Looking ForMinimum Qualifications:
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Associate's degree and 4+ years' experience in multi-state payroll processing, including California (or equivalent education and experience).
- High attention to detail and ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local timekeeping and wage regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in payroll, expense management, or related fields.
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly in Excel.
- Experience with Kronos Workforce Ready Payroll and Time & Attendance software.
