Job Description: UPMC Western Maryland is seeking Sonographers to join their team of life-changers!\n We're currently hiring for full-time and casual positions. These positions will work various shifts, including weekend and holiday rotations. Applicants who possess experience with vascular and obstetrics are highly encouraged to apply!\n The Sonographer performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. They competently perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.\n If applicable, this position may qualify for a sign-on bonus of $6,000 in exchange for a 2-year work commitment!\n *Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the Sonographer Career Ladder, based on their individual experience and education.\n *Sonographer rates start at $30.65/hr, Sonographer Adv. rates start at $32.19/hr. Responsibilities:\n\nPerforms in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.\nAssists physicians with invasive procedures, adhering to universal protocol standards.\nInteracts with patients and co-workers, displaying caring, listening, dignity, and respect.\nCommunicates instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to alleviate fears.\nEnsures exams are properly coded, tracked, networked, and charges entered.\nIdentifies patients using two identifiers and reviews patient history and physician orders.\nDocuments patient history in electronic records as required.\nMay handle High-Level Disinfection of devices, supplies, and equipment.\nObtains and documents cross-sectional anatomy images, correlating measurements with data charts.\nPerforms technical ultrasound procedures, using appropriate instrumentation and techniques.\n Sonographer\n\nCompletion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is required. \n\n Sonographer Adv.\n\nCompletion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is required. \n2 years of ultrasound experience is required.\nPerformance review consistent with minimum of strong/ Solid performance on last performance review. \n\n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:\n\nRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) \nBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation \n\n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
