Job Overview The Ambassador Program is designed to accelerate the transition of new colleagues to full productivity, foster relationship building, and connect talents and skills of newly placed associates. The program will require a dedicated commitment that involved time on the floor, in your department and collaboration between both the ambassador and new colleagues. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Functions
- Help new colleagues identify skills and knowledges needed to increase their learning and accelerate their comfort with their roles.
- Help new colleagues understand the Macy's behaviors and values.
- Assist new colleagues in understanding fundamental responsibilities and processes of their areas.
- Help partner new colleagues with the right resource for finding information and resolving any issues.
- Help increase new colleagues' willingness to venture out and make decisions on their own.
- Provides support to balance any stress with their onboarding and direct them to any resources available to them.
- Share knowledge and experience.
- Set expectations on company behavioral norms and expectations.
- Provide known resource for surfacing ideas and concerns.
- Establish open lines of communication, listen for concerns and escalate if needed to leadership.
- Create a safe environment to discuss genuine concerns.
- Regular, dependable punctuality and attendance. Qualifications and Competencies
- Must have a minimum of 90 days as a warehouse hourly colleague.
- Excellent in writing and verbal communication.
- Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.
- Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent understanding of Macy's behaviors and values.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs. Physical Requirements
- This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.
- Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department
- May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, climbing ladders, depth perception and color vision
- Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary to perform job duties, including handheld electronic equipment.
- Frequently lift/move up to 50lbs. Supply Chain Only and Colleagues Working in a Supply Chain Facility except in locations governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement: Random drug testing for all colleagues will be conducted on a monthly or semi-monthly basis, depending upon factors including but not limited to the size of the facility and the number of colleagues on roll. Colleagues will be randomly selected for testing by a third party. Testing must be completed on the same workday the colleague is informed of selection for testing, absent extenuating circumstances. In all circumstances, testing must be completed within 24 hours of notification.
